"Life can only be understood backward, but must be lived forwards." Søren Kierkegaard

"You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it." Margaret Thatcher (Live & Learn)

"For darkness restores what light cannot repair" - Joseph Brodsky

This quote was at the end of an episode of Criminal Minds. After hearing it, I had to research the author's bio and some of his work. It made sense, especially with the episode that it was attached to. When one experiences trauma (as most of us may, in our lifetime, in one form or another), it fits. Darkness isn’t something to hold on to. However, sometimes, it can be a comfort if the trauma or the reason cannot be explained.

I put in Scars my experience with how I processed (initially, then through healing) my trauma. Darkness keeps me from freezing up. It can help me continue to the next day, the next hour, my next breath.
